ADNA CONSTITUTION 2023/2024Group

  1. ORGANISATION

The organisation shall be called ANDOVER & DISTRICT NETBALL ASSOCIATION (hereinafter referred to as ‘Association’). The initials ADNA shall be used when appropriate.

  1. FORMATION

The ADNA is formed as a voluntary body for the development and participation of the amateur sport of netball within the Andover area and surrounding districts.

  1. MEMBERSHIP TO ENGLAND NETABLL

All players and umpires must be member of EN and must play to England Netball rules, to the latest amendments, (hereinafter referred to as EN).

  1. REGISTRATION

Each team shall be required to pay an annual registration fee to the ADNA, decided by the committee. Fees for the fourth-coming season are as follows:

Teams        £50.00        (registration of up to 16 players per team)

Deposit        £30.00        (to be handed back once all fixtures have been fulfilled)

Individuals who register to the ADNA are bound by the Constitution and Rules of the ADNA.

ADNA Registration fee and entry form must be completed on or by the AGM.

  1. OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the league are for the enjoyment of its members, the promotion and development of local league netball.

  1. FUNDING

To collect any money for the ADNA.

6.1 To collect annual registration fees, match fees and fines from each Team.

6.2 To raise funds by any lawful means.

6.3 To receive donations towards the operating costs.

The ADNA financial year shall run from the 1st May to the 30th April.

The Treasurer is empowered to keep proper accounts and regularly report to the committee on financial matters affecting the ADNA. The Treasurer shall present an audited statement of the ADNA accounts at the AGM

  1. COMMITTEE

A committee shall be elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting, to manage the operations of the ADNA. The committee to comprise:

        Vice-Chairperson

        Treasurer

        Correspondence Secretary

        Minutes Secretary        

        Results/Fixtures Secretary

        Registration/Membership Secretary

        Disciplinary Secretary

Umpiring Secretary

Venue Secretary

Publicity/Website Secretary

HNA Representative

        League Representative (4)        

        

      The committee shall have the power to fill vacancies that occur during its term of office and

        co-opt additional members if required.

Each member will have full voting rights at all meetings.

  1. MEETINGS

8.1 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

An AGM shall take place giving 28 days’ notice to the members. A representative from each club for the forth coming season must attend the AGM. The Association will impose a £20 fine on clubs, which do not attend.

At the AGM the chairperson or Vice Chairperson will chair the meeting. All existing committee members shall retire but be eligible for re-election.

Candidates for election of the committee must be proposed and seconded by members. The names of the candidates proposed, and seconded members should be completed on a Committee Nominations form. The completed form should be sent to the League Secretary, prior to the AGM. Nominations for unfilled posts will also be accepted from the floor.

8.2 Business of AGM

  • Receive a report from the Chairperson.
  • Receive a report and final accounts from Treasurer.
  • Receive reports from Hampshire/Officiating/Fixtures & Results Officers/Registration & Membership/Disciplinary Officers
  • Elect Officers of the ADNA.  

Voting shall be a show of hands. One representative from each team will be eligible to vote. In case of a tied vote, the chairperson shall have a casting vote.

Each committee member will have full voting rights at AGM.

8.3 Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)

An EGM can be called, if requested, by at least 5 members of the committee or 66% of members of the league. 14 days’ notice shall be given in writing to all members. A representative from each registered team must attend. The ADNA will impose a £20 fine on each team which does not attend.

Voting shall be a show of hands. One representative from each team will be eligible to vote. In case of a tied vote, the chairperson shall have a casting vote.

Each committee member will have full voting rights at EGM.

8.4 Committee Meetings

The committee shall meet every 6-8 weeks or as often required to conduct the business affairs and plan events

Any member of the committee has the right to call a meeting.

No decision can be made unless there is a quorum of 5 members.

Voting will be show of hands. In case of a tied vote, the Chairperson shall have a casting vote.

  1. MEMBERSHIP OF THE ADNA

In accepting membership, a person agrees to abide in the constitution of the league and the rulings of the ADNA.

Membership to the ADNA shall be open, and not unreasonably restricted on the grounds of race or of political, religious or other opinions, to any person in the area who is prepared to accept and support the objectives of the league.

  1. DISCIPLINE

The ADNA operates the EN Disciplinary Procedures.

  1. DISSOLUTION

In the event of winding up, or dissolution, of the ADNA and after all dept and liabilities have been satisfied, any monies and equipment shall be given or transferred to some other organisation having similar objectives, which further and develop amateur sport.
