Simply ACES vs Eclipse BoxIT (39-30)

Being the last game of the season, both teams where ready for a good match. The pace of the game was fast with good passes and shooting from either side. BoxIT took full advantage of their height and made some exceptional play which was well rewarded with goals! ACES reacted well with their GA Kimberley Lovell managing to dodge BoxIT's defence even when being tripled marked at times. BoxIT's WA Gemma Faulks kept driving forwards using her speed to her advantage. This game was very well matched with excellent play from both sides.

Simply Health vs Andover Arrows Yellows (49-24)

Simplyhealth pulled away in the 1st quarter despite every effort from Arrows players to stop them. Arrows Jane Tulley ( GS ) had some excellent goals and worked well with her team, but Simplyhealths defense where on form and unstoppable intercepting the ball and getting it back to their shooters Wendy Thorne (GS) & Paula Burgess (GA) who gave all they could at every opportunity.

1 April 2011 @ 7:00pm

FM Eclipse vs DFP Surveying (36-24)

The final 1st division match of the season was a fiesty encounter between FM Eclipse and DFP Surveying. FM, eager to avenge their earlier 1 goal defeat by DFP, were quick off the mark through some very accurate shooting by their attack. Meanwhile, throughout the first half, the DFP tally was kept low by some excellent defending by FMs Carrieann Smith and, playing her last match for the team, Emma Walker. DFPs shooters were knocked off their stride and with interceptions being made across the court FM were able to steal into an 18 - 10 lead by half time. The second half saw a change of lineup for DFP with Fran Richards and Julie Davies taking to the field. However, their considerable experience was not enough to turn the tide against some very smooth play by FM. Driven by their fast moving and intelligent centre court play FM continued to drive the match to the very last whistle, this win ensuring that they claimed second place in the exceptionally closely faugh top of the divison mtch.

Andover Arrows Purple vs Vernham Vixens (54-29)

Vixens knew they were going to have to work hard with the team being 2nd from the League table and unfortunately this showed in the first quarter with the players, although were only a few goals behind. The second quarter after a change around was a more vibrant game. Their WA Lisa Hamson took control of the ball from the centre passes and got the ball to their shooters. Vixens was then able to narrow the gap. Arrows Purple Centre Charlotte Ruffle, intercepted everytime and was able to get the ball down to the Purples end very quickly and once in the hand of the shooters there was rarely a miss. Vixens defence did as much as they could. They should be pleased with how they worked together as there was nothing they could have done more as the Arrows goals were perfect everytime.

FM Eclipse vs Abbotts Ann (72-13)

First division minnows Abbotts Ann played their final match of the season against a resurgent FM Eclipse team. Unfortunately for the village team, FM were looking to build as much goal difference as possible in order to stay in the hunt at the top of the table. FM swiftly built up a lead. Abbotts Anns GD Tracey Kestle playing her last match with the team tried valiantly to derail FM but sharp shooting from FMs GA Hannah Long meant that by half time FM were out of sight at FM 37 - AA 6. When Abbotts Ann did build an attack it was superbly finished through the accurate shooting of Alison Needham who after many years was playing her last match, however, FMs defence held strong and these chances were few and far between.

Vernham Vixens vs Eclipse BoxIT (47-25)

Vixens showed their class with an emphatic 47-25 victory against Box-IT. Jess Rickwood had a great game as goal attack sealing many points for Vixens. Vixens played extremely well in all four quarters and a tremendous spirit from the whole team ensured that the lead grew. Lyndsay Milne also played well for Box-IT as goal attack and the centre court played hard feeding the ball to their shooters but this was not enough to stop Vixens from securing the points Despite a decent effort from Box-IT to stop the Vixens attack the points gap continued to widen which meant a well deserverd win for vixens. They should all feel proud

11 March 2011 @ 8:20pm

Andover Arrows Veterans vs DFP Surveying (36-27)

very even fast and furious game with Vets slightly pulling ahead at half time by 4 goals. DFP made an attacking substitution and managed to pull the score back to 1 deficit at the end of 3rd quarter. However despite the continued fast flowing play and link up of DFPs Emma Law and Anna Pocock DFP missed some shooting chances, enablingVets to pull away. DFP look forward to the re-match in 2 weeks time and hope to avenge their loss.

FM Eclipse vs Eclipse Online (61-11)

Despite being a friendly derby, this fixture was always going to be difficult for Eclipse Online, particularly with their captain already relegated to the sidelines on crutches. Whilst Eclipse Online were very much about continuing to build their team after persistent squad changes across the season, FM Eclipse were able to show their strength and depth by using all 9 team members, rotating about in positions. From the start of the match Eclipse Online had many good passages of play, finished off by some nice shots, however, it was FM who quickly forged ahead and were out of sight in the first 15 minutes. At half time FM strengthened their attacking play with the introduction of Beverley King at GS. The pace was immediately upped again with a quick volley of goals. With their quick movement and excellent reading of Stevie Weeks.

Andover Arrows vs K.W.D. (29-41)

Arrows set a very quick pace which both teams would have done well to keep to for 60 minutes. Halftime scores were even with both teams chasing down every ball. The third quarter saw a team change for KWD as they moved Lorraine Bradbury into GS to even out the height advantage that AA had in the first quarter. This saw them steadily pull away with a quick succession on goals which put KWD into an even more positive and determined mood in the last quarter. KWD's Meg Williams GK was once again a key part in stopping some excellent passes in to Nickey Stickley who also had a great match and produced some accurate shots at goal and skilful ball control in the D. This was an important match for KWD to win as they are in contention for a medal this season but now have to sit and sweat it out as the final games are played in the next couple of weeks.

FM Eclipse vs DFP Surveying (31-32)

DFP stared the match in bouyant fashion and with strong support from the sidelines immediately stole into a 6 goal lead. DFPs strong defence dominaited FMs attacking third, fighting for every single ball. Just when FM looked to be slipping out the back door they pulled together a string of goals themselves and by quarter time were back in the match at FM 10 - DFP 12. FM brought on the long reach of Kim Redgrave for the second quarter. This cut out DFPs circle passes. FM won rebounds and interceptions from DFPs attack leaving the match tied at 18 all by half time. Slowly FM started to creep into the lead. Both centres Anna Pocock and Jane Barlett orchestrating play and making excellent interceptions across the court for their team. Although FM started the final quarter with a slim 1 goal lead, DFP had a late run of goals for which FM just ran out of time to make a reply.

Andover Arrows Veterans vs K.W.D. (47-40)

A goal for goal first quarter saw KWD leading by one goal in the first quarter and increasing this into next with Lorraine Bradbury giving a confident performance against a very tight defence. Arrows picked up their game in the second half of the match as Zara Coldwell and Amy Tarrant settled into their stride. The aerial passes to the tall GS were defended well by the long reach and well timed defending by Meg Williams who did so well to make the usually easy throws in a little harder to connect with. KWD lost their stride a little in the 3rd quarter with some text book errors costing them a turn around in the score. They never gave up the fight though and gave Arrows a difficult game.

K.W.D. vs Abbotts Ann (57-14)

KWD continued there good run with another big win last Friday night. Once again Meg Williams GK played a key roll in keeping the goals to a minimum for the second week running, with the quarter time score at 17-1 to KWD. Lyndsey Pratt and Jo Mussell cover the court well and prevented Abbotts Anns shooters an easy entry into their shooting zone, which gave them few shots at goal. rebounds were quickly scooped up and fed quickly away from AA. In the third quarter a team change gave AA a boost as their GA Sarah Long made quite a difference in their attack. It was however a huge margin to make up and despite their hard working defence's efforts, KWD were confident and difficult to keep out of the game.

4 February 2011 @ 8:20pm

Eclipse Online vs K.W.D. (2-45)

Despite difficult windy conditions, KWD got off to a high paced start and had conceded no goals until halfway through the second quarter which left FMol with a difficult 22-1 scoreline to chase. KWD were well drilled and took full advantage with some cheeky feeds from Ali Oliver and Mel Davies into their on form shooters who have had a fantastic season so far this year. Every effort was made by FM's Rebecca Tucker, but the goals just kept mounting up. It was however KWD's defence who stole the night with Sarah Whitby and the long reaching GK Meg only conceding 2 goals in an hour, which helped keep KWD at the top of Div 1.

Player of the match for Arrows Yellow was Jess Matthews at C who worked tirelessly throughout the game.

FM applied pressure to close the gap but by the end of only the first quarter Vets were already in control with the scores at Vets 17 - FM 9. A poor FM second quarter and Vets were becoming run away winners, although in the last 5 minutes of the half FM started to change tactics and found some rhythm and space to close the deficit. In the second half FM continued to fight, forcing errors and with strong accurate shooting they refused to buckle. However,Vets simply had, for FM, an unbeatable advantage in the height and reach of their GS Zara Colwell. FM Eclipse vs Eclipse Online (43-10)

The final score of this match belies how close these two teams were. Eclipse Online played the whole match full of intention and drive, eagerly chasing lost balls across the court and winning possession where FM had already assumed the ball to be dead. FM Eclipse played to their strength, using their height and reach to make some superb interceptions in defence, keeping the final Online score low, whilst FMs attack consistently scored shot after shot leaving very few rebounds for Online to capitalise on. Centres, Jane Bartlett and Georgia Nutley, won Best Player for FM and Online respectively, however the accolades could easily have sat anywhere with a number of superb individual performances on both sides.

K.W.D. vs DFP Surveying (48-24)

The sub zero temperatures threatened to slow both teams down with even the match ball refusing to bounce and having to be replaced by umpires. Both teams were fairly even paced in the first quarter as they adapted to the freezing night air. It was however KWD who kept a composed head with a combined effort in both attack and defence. They pulled away their lead in each quarter and kept up their pace until the final whistle. DFP's defence were quick and not easy to outwit, but KWD's attack seemed to know exactly where they're shooters were going to be and overcame this despite the difficult obstacles that belied them.

A very early passage of play was the deciding factor of this match. FM Eclipse were quickly 5 - 1 up and looking to pull away. However a number of errors started to appear and in the wet weather, as the ball slipped through their fingers, it was KWD who were quick to capitalise, pulling back the deficit and picking up the quarter time lead. KWD 11 - FM 10. KWDs quick attacking play was swiftly finished off by some fine shooting by Helen Harkness. FM showed more hunger in the third quarter pulling back the scoreline with a string of goals of their own. Andover Arrows vs DFP Surveying (21-30)

After a long Christmas break both teams were keen to start the 2nd half of the season well. The first quarter was very tight, with arrows defence intercepting loose balls into the circle. During the second quarter DFP started to find their confidence and with new signing Paige Richards as GA having an excellent game they started to slowly pull away. Continued pressure from DFPs defence caused Arrows to loose confidence in their last 3rd. DFP managed to hold onto their lead and come away with a hard fought win.

FM Eclipse vs Abbotts Ann (70-18)

Ultimately, expectations were played out in this Top verses Bottom of the table fixture. During the first few minutes of this match Abbotts Ann managed to pin FM Eclipse down and keep the ball with the AA attack. Unfortunately vital shots were missed and before long the opportunity had passed. FM stepped up their game and piled on the attack. Interceptions were made across the court, FM using the long reach of Jane Bartlett (C) and the speed of Stevie Weeks (WA) to their full effect. By half time FM were out of sight at 32 - 8. However, to their credit, Abbotts Ann never gave up and played the game in good spirit throughout the match. The excellent movement and shooting of Sarah King(GA) won them a number of well deserved goals in the second half, but it was FMs superior skill and movement which sealed the destiny of the match.

26 November 2010 @ 8:20pm

Andover Arrows vs K.W.D. (42-42)

The closest fought match of the evening saw Arrows and KWD goal for goal in the final half of the match. Arrows had a comfortable lead at half time but KWD were showing a determined side and dug deep to bring the scores level. Helen Harkess and Lynn Archer were once again magnificent as they kept their cool whilst shooting during this competitive match. Arrows GK Becca Parker lead her defence in a great crackdown in the circle. Both GD and WD were excellent at clearing the ball back upto their shooters. The final whistle went as KWD had just missed the final shot at goal, and it only felt right that this game ended in a draw as both teams played so well

26 November 2010 @ 8:20pm

Simply ACES vs Eclipse BoxIT (55-39)

Eclipse made a good start to the game and took an early lead after the first five minutes of the game. ACES responded quickly to ensure BoxIt did not pull away to quickly. By the end of the first quarter ACES took the lead and from that point on didn't look back. Aces used their height advantage in defence and made some super interceptions to prevent an on form Eclipse GA Georgia Nutley from converting. ACES GD Rebecca Cantillon moved the ball back to the attacking end quickly for ACES to extend their lead. Half time saw ACES make a few changes to protect there lead. BoxIt didn't give up and their determination paid off as they were able to pull back some goals. The cold weather didnt stop WA Andrea Westley from covering the centre third and goal third well, she made some excellent feeds into the shooters, Eclipse saw her as a threatand in the final quarter tried to stop her getting into the shooting third. Arrows also moved very quickly to always keep the lead with their GS Kirsty Langford having her eye for the goal. A respectable scoreline for both teams.

Vernham Vixens vs Anton Saws (28-36)

Anton Saws took the lead from the start with their fantastic GA shooter Jody Scott hardly missing a goal. In the first quarter although good defending from Vixens they just couldn't stop the Goals from going in. In the second quarter Vixens nearly caught up with only 4 goals in it and with the return of a new Goal Shooter Debbie Withers who again was a fantastic shooter Vixens were not far off from being equal. The last 2 quarters Saws took the lead even more and with their defence intercepting most of the time it was getting impossible to get any further goals. Vixens centre court worked extremely hard to stop the ball from going back to the Saws shooters but it was not enough. It was another friendly Game and both teams walked away with match points.

K.W.D. vs DFP Surveying (43-25)

KWD started the first quarter with 6 players which required a swift move around although they managed to keep the score within reach in the next quarter. DFP'sCheryl Green, got into her stride in the second quarter and was shooting well, but KWD had gained back their 7th player in the form of the long reaching Meg williams who came on and relieved Ali Oliver of her temperary post at GK. This gave KWD's attack a more confident feel as Helen Harkess and Lynne Archer scored some beautiful goals. Julia Mclachlan worked hard for DFP and it was by no means an easy feed into the circle.

Andover Arrows Veterans vs K.W.D. (45-40)

Arrows got off to a comfortable start and were ahead by the first quarter. Injury to one of their players left them short and KWD took full advantage of the situation. Sarah Whitby gave 100% in defence against Arrows GS who planted herself firmly under the post and rarely missed a goal. Sarah Jane Dykes had an amazing game and took full control of the centre court to cover the missing player. KWD pulled back and at one point were within 3 goals of equalising. Arrows height won over in the end as they continued to make every pass a dificult one for KWD.

Abbotts Ann vs DFP Surveying (14-39)

DFP started the first quarter very tentatively with wet weather and players getting used to playing together, allowing Abbots Ann keep this quarter close. DFP then put Peta Green in Goal Keeper and Sally Jackson finding her form as Wing Attack feeding well to Natalie Shaw, DFP then started to pull away in a very friendly match, looking great in their new sponsored kit. And with fireworks ahead a good night was had by all.

Specsavers vs Vernham Vixens (51-30)

A friendly game which saw Specsavers take the lead from the start, but Vixens never gave up. Charlotte Farquharson proved a great defender and Vixens put lots of pressure onto the Specsavers shooters. Specsavers Kyla Hunt's defending made it difficult for Vixens to bring the ball up the court. However, when the ball got to the Vixens shooters they rarely missed. This allowed both teams to walk away from the match with points

K.W.D. vs Abbotts Ann (55-23)

Abbotts Anne put up a good fight throughout this match despite only fielding 6 players. Linda North was dominant in the centre court and more than made up for the lost player. KWD's Helen Harkess was on form and linked well in the D with some quick and inventive throws between shooters. KWD played a good defensive and attacking game which saw them turnout another high score this week

Eclipse Online vs DFP Surveying (20-45)

DFP got into their stride from the off. Jazzy Davis played an excellent match as centre linking defence play from Lisa Morley who intercepted many passes, through to attack who had to work hard to pass the ball past the Eclipse on line Goak keeper. Eclipse on line fought hard throughout the game with Rebecca Tucker again having a good game, but DFP were always in control and came out comfortable winners.

FM Eclipse vs Andover Arrows (48-31)

FM lead from the front throughout this match. Immediately putting Arrows on the back foot, FM drew out a small early lead which they just consistently built on though their smooth attacking play. Despite a number of tactical changes from Arrows, FM Eclipse remained strong with flowing passes across the court. Carrieann Smith (GK) commanded play from the back and ensured many of Arrows potent attacks were stifled whilst FMs Hannah Long (GA) continually found great positions in the shooting circle. In the final quarter FM were able to take advantage of a dip in Arrows shooting form as panic set in. Cheered home by enthusiastic support, FM were still increasing the winning margin right up to the final bell.

Eclipse Online vs K.W.D. (27-55)

KWD, made a good start and looked confident as they played a dominant match against FM. Lorraine Bradbury made a spectacular return to Goal shooter despite being out of action last season due to injury. There were quick and timely moves in and around the with Mel Davis and Helen Harkess reading the game well. FM's GK had a great game and worked relentlessly to stop the feeds into the circle, which were rarely missed. FM fought back in the last quarter, but were unable to make up the deficit as KWD raised their game accordingly

Simply Health vs Andover Arrows Purple (27-21)

A freindly and enjoyable game saw victory for Simplyhealth. Through the match simplyhealth worked exceptionally hard to maintain the lead. Lauren webb worked well in Defense intercepting at every opportunity and Rachel Freeman also working tirelessly in WA to read play and ensure that the shooters received the ball. Both teams were evenly matched with skill and experience and this was reflected in the low score. Kirsty Smith for Arrows purple gained best player due to her perfect reading of the game.

Andover Arrows vs Abbotts Ann (70-14)

Arrows were quickly into their stride and Abbotts Ann found it hard to stop the flow of goals. By the end of the first quarter the score was 17 - 3 to Arrows. Abbotts Ann did not give up and were able to pass the ball around the circle, feeding it in to Alison Needham and Tracy Kestle but the Arrows defence worked well and by half time the score was 33-7 to Arrows. The final score was 70- 14 to Arrows. Best player was Sarah King AA GA in the second half and Rebecca Parker GK for Arrows.

Vernham Vixens vs Simply ACES (28-51)

The Indian summer came into full effect during this match with the over whelming heat felt by both teams! Simply ACES took an early lead with fluent passes by all players, finished off with excellent shooting by GS Cathy Loveridge. Vernham Vixen’s Kate Maloney tried her hardest to hold Simply ACES GA out of the shooting area and made some fantastic interception. This match was its usual friendly and cheerful game when these two teams meet.

8 October 2010 @ 7:00pm

FM Eclipse vs Andover Arrows Veterans (48-43)

A tense opening few minutes saw both teams squandering their early chances. Once composure was found it was FM Eclipse who started to build a string of goals to an early quarter time lead of 15 - 9. Although a second quarter change in formation by Arrows Vets brought little change in their attacking performance, it did keep FM at bay and by half time, Vets, though trailing, were very much in touching distance. Three quick goals and an increase in belief saw Vets pull themselves right back into the match in the third quarter. FMs GD Emma Walker keeping her team moving with excellent interceptions and positive defending against a now very confident attack. The final quarter saw another string of unanswered goals for Vets. They closed the gap to 2 goals with minutes to go before FM rallied with their own volley of goals. A win for FM, but credit must go to Arrow Vets who came so close having played the whole match with only 6 players.

Andover Arrows vs DFP Surveying (28-32)

newly formed team dfp surveying played their first match on friday against an experienced arrows. dfp started slowly going 4 goals down, however dfp started to gell together and the centre court and the attack started to link up and read each others passes. Peta Green was in excellent form gaining in confidence and accurate shooting in goal attack. Arrows keileigh parker played an excellent first match for arrows in defence. the game was very close throughout but dfp managaed for forge ahead in the last quarter.

Eclipse Online vs Abbotts Ann (28-27)

An exciting opening game to the season where the score reflected the high level of play from both teams. Abbotts Ann's attack, Sarah King GA and Tracey Kestle GS passed the ball around finding a way into the circle with great feeding of the ball by Sandi Evans C and Lin North WA despite good interceptions from FM Eclipse's defence. FM's attack using their height to their advantage and together with their accurate shooting clinched the game in an exciting last quarter by one goal.

24 September 2010 @ 8:20pm

Andover Arrows Purple vs Simply ACES (35-31)

Both teams were very evenly matched throughout the game with it being goal for goal at each stage of the match. Aces took the lead in the first quarter as the team was playing with new members, their player of the match Rosie Sauter looked very comfortable playing out of position as GS but was defended with equal quality by Arrows player of the match Robyn Tobutt. With both teams leading for two quarters each it was Arrows that clinched the vital quarte. The key to their victory was their short, sharp passes and with all young players in the team their pace left Aces tired in the final quarter allowing Arrows to take the lead.

Simply Health vs Vernham Vixens (27-22)

The first game of the season started as a great game with Simplyhealth trailing by 4 goals in the 1st quarter. The lead changed in Vernham vixen’s quarter with Vicky Stacy (WA) excellent control of the court. The final quarter left Simplyhealth with the victory.

FM Eclipse vs K.W.D. (45-32)

Defending champions FM Eclipse opened the new ADNA winter season with a competitive match against KWD. Despite an early injury to their GK Kim Redgrave, FM were able to push ahead through the consistent end to end sprinting of Jane Bartlett (C) who superbly supported both ends of her team throughout the match. KWD were obviously well practised over the closed season and were eager to make a good showing. In the second half they raised their game determined not to let FM Eclipse build a winning margin. Ali Oliver(WA) started to orchestrate some commanding attacking passages, feeding accurate balls to the KWD shooters and the highly mobile Sarah Whitby (GD) started to read FMs attacks, making interceptions and bringing her team back into the match. KWD managed to win points for half scores, but it is FM Eclipse who open their account with 5 league points for the win.
